Three Generations of Pride
From a small family operation to a beloved New England institution — our story is one of heritage, dedication, and flavor.
Rooted in Portuguese Tradition
The story of New England Sausage Company begins in 1930, when our family first arrived in Fall River, Massachusetts — a city with a vibrant Portuguese-American community. They brought with them the recipes, techniques, and passion for sausage-making that had been part of their family for generations.
What began as a modest family venture quickly earned a reputation for quality. Neighbors became customers, customers became advocates, and word spread throughout the Portuguese-American communities of New England.
Today, under the leadership of Brian Umbelina, the third generation to helm the company, we continue to honor our founders' commitment. We still use traditional smokehouse methods. We still source the finest ingredients. And we still craft every product with the same care and pride that defined our family nearly a century ago.
